The Role:

We are seeking an individual with experience researching prospective donors, maintaining lists of event attendees, and managing the implementation and maintenance of a customer relationship management (CRM) system, e.g. Salesforce or similar. This new role is part of our strategic growth and vital to our ability to implement an ambitious plan in support of ideas42’s overall mission. We are looking for a highly-organized, entrepreneurial individual to play a key part of building our individual donor program, supporting a growth capital campaign, and assisting Senior Team members with business development efforts. The role will be critical in allowing us to expand our capabilities to raise funds from individuals and through public events. This includes but is not limited to:

CRM Procurement and Management

  • Own contact management for the organization, including procurement and maintenance of a CRM system that meets our needs
  • Customize CRM setup to align with fundraising and marketing/communication processes
  • Perform regular data uploads/exercises, data maintenance & cleaning activities
  • Work with Communications Team to build and maintain relevant segmented email marketing lists
  • Support business development processes, ensuring that Senior Team members are capturing updated contact information from prospective partners/clients

Prospect Research

  • Conduct extensive research to identify new prospects for high net worth individual donor program and potential attendees for high-level events via Wealth Engine and online connection research 
  • Work with Executive Team to revise and grow prospecting list
  • Track follow-up with potential donors and own relationship management activities and follow-up through CRM

Fundraising Support 

  • Coordinate with Development and Senior Team members to ensure progress is made towards internal fundraising goals
  • Work with Communications and Development Team members to execute an outreach and marketing plan for new donors and events
  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising events, especially intimate salon-style convenings. This may involve working with venues, catering, printing and A/V vendors.

A passion for unorthodox problem-solving and promoting social good is crucial, but prior expertise or training in behavioral science or psychology is not expected.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years experience in an agency or in-house setting in a development/fundraising, or prospect research position
  • Fluency with MS Office, Google Business Apps and CRM systems like Salesforce or Prosperworks. Role will require extensive use of spreadsheets (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets)
  • Previous experience negotiating and coordinating with software as service (SaaS) vendors
  • A natural problem-solver with excellent prioritization skills, capable of successfully managing competing priorities and multiple deadlines 
  • Overall attention to detail is a must
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with client-facing or customer relations
  • Ability to work independently and serve as an ambassador for the organization
  • Proactive self-starter who takes ownership for everything they do
  • A strong level of discretion and judgment when dealing with sensitive or confidential information
  • A willingness to conduct research on creating prospects list for high net worth individuals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or certification in a related field
  • Prior experience conducting research on creating prospects lists for high net worth individuals
  • Familiarity with industry standard data security protocols
