The Role: 

As the Staff Accountant, you will work closely with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance, being responsible for day to day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, preparing for audits, and supporting payroll. Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Managing all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and analyze expenses
  • Tracking credit card purchases and make monthly payments
  • Managing all bank accounts and reconcile monthly
  • Analyzing payroll allocations and journal into accounting system
  • Assisting with quarterly fiscal close and associated financial reporting
  • Maintaining good relations with vendors and clients as necessary
  • Being main contact for all insurance, benefits and 401k matters

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of nonprofit accounting experience
  • Adept at Fund-EZ, Microsoft Suite and Google Office Software
  • Quick learner and task oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Experience of New York City funding is preferred

Compensation is competitive within the non-profit industry; Qualifies for loan forgiveness based on 501(c)3 status; Candidates must already be authorized to work in the U.S.; Position  based in NYC.
